HAIR CARE GUIDE

  • Washing

Use a sulfate-free shampoo and ultra-hydrating conditioner. Remain gentle and avoid harsh scrubbing when washing. Excessive washing can cause dryness, so wash your extensions only when hair is weighed down, greasy or dirty with odor.

  • After Washing

After washing, hang or lay your extensions to air dry. Do not rub the hair with a towel and only use a wide-tooth comb or denman hair brush to detangle.

  • Brushing

Brushing your extensions regularly can prevent shedding and help ensure that your hair stays smooth and tangle-free. Brush your JGR hair when dry, as wet hair is more prone to breakage.

Start at the ends and gradually make your way up to the top. Gently comb through any knots before moving up towards the roots. Harsh tugging will damage the structural integrity of the extensions as well as the hair itself.

Be extra gentle when brushing your extensions while they are installed, especially around the top as you don’t want to pull at the wefts, adhesive, etc.

    Use

    • Detangle Brushes
    • Bamboo Paddle Brushes
    • Wet® Brushes
    • Dual Boar Bristle Brushes
  • Coloring

At JGR, we already offer many pre-colored hair options and do not advise re-coloring, bleaching or toning any pre-colored extensions. Be aware that doing so can reduce the quality of your hair texture.

Do not use any bleaching agents to lighten your extensions at home without any prior guidance, experience or instruction.

For any kind of color treatment, always do a test strand first and remember that extensions will absorb color faster than regular hair, so you should reduce your sit time during color processing.

Overall, seeking a licensed hair colorist is always the best thing to do when wanting to switch things up.

  • Product Use

Another important aspect of hair after-care is using the right products. Stay away from heavy hair sprays and hair gels with toxic chemicals that will dry out your hair extensions and leave them brittle.

Use gentle, all-natural sulfate and paraben free products instead. We also recommend an occasional moisturizing mask to fight dryness & maintain a shiny and healthy look.

  • Styling With Heat

JGR Textures are 100% Human hair so you can use heat on them when styling. But keep in mind, just like your natural hair, extensions are susceptible to heat damage.

Using a heat protectant spray prior to heat application and using a low heat setting can help prevent damage to your extensions and prolong their lifespan.  We recommend using heat no higher than 360 degrees on your GLAM ROOM hair.

  • Storing Extensions

When your extensions are not in use or installed, brush the hairs first to get rid of any tangles and knots. Then, store the hair in a silk/satin tie pouch or a hair extension storage bag.

All extensions should be completely dry and tucked away from direct sunlight in a cool, dry place.
